Round 4 Update- MLCF

REGINA, SK – The Maple Leaf Circuit Finals is coming to a close, with three rounds of action behind us and the final performance slated for tonight at 7pm.

The fastest time this week thus far is a 4.0, turned in by Kavis Drake and Denim Ross for a Round #2 win. But if history is any indicator, tonight promises to be the FASTEST round yet.

In the inaugural year of the Maple Leaf Circuit Finals in 2019, Levi Simpson and Kasper Roy stole the spotlight with an impressive Round 4 victory, clocking in at an astonishing 3.6 seconds—the fastest time of the week.

In 2021, the Graham brothers claimed their moment, securing the Round 4 win with a swift 3.8-second run, once again setting the fast run for the week.

And just last year in 2022, we witnessed what could be deemed the most remarkable Round 4 performance. Tate and Kagen Schmidt from Barrhead, Alberta not only established a new Canadian Western Agribition arena record but also etched their names in the Canadian Pro Rodeo Record books. Their Round 4 triumph clocked in at an extraordinary 3.3 seconds, once again the fastest time of the week.

While the Schmidt boys bask in the glory of their record, it's worth noting that Dawson and Dillon Graham returned to the arena in 2022, and in Round 4 narrowly missed the Schmidts' record with a second-place finish and a 3.4-second run.

Current contestants Travis Speer and Chase Simpson joined the 2022 final round frenzy, delivering an impressive 3.8-second run, earning them a respectable third place. Notably, this run would have clinched victory or a shared first place in 9 out of the past 12 Maple Leaf Circuit Finals rounds and all 3 rounds this week. Speer and Simpson are yet to stop the clock this week, so it’s probable they let er’ buck tonight and we all know they’re capable.

After a tough round last night that seen 4 teams fall out of the average, there could be a couple of teams in ‘blast mode’.

The anticipation for tonight is high. History says it’s going to get fast. How fast will it get? Drop your predictions below and stay tuned as the Round 4 action unfolds.
