Just under an hour till the Round 4 action commences in the Brandt Centre to conclude the 2023 Maple Leaf Circuit Finals
Grady Quam & Devin Wigemyr are in the drivers seat when it comes to the average with a total time of 20.9 seconds on three head. They’re the only pair to get all 3 of their steers captured this week, picking up a 2nd and 3rd place cheque along the way. Tonight they drew the steer that Tee & Brady won the round on last night and Clay & Tyce knocked down in 4.9 for third in round 2.
Tee McLeod and Brady Chappel sit second in the average after a back-to-back pair of 4.6s, good enough for a 1st and 2nd place cheque this week. Tonight they drew the only steer to get caught in all three rounds. He has also been used to place in all three rounds with Skocdopole & Spady grabbing 4th on him on night #1, Klassen & Roy getting 4th on him in round #2 and Quam & Wigemyr using him for a 5.2 last night for 2nd.
Drake & Ross sit just 3 tenths of a second behind McLeod & Chappel when it comes to the average. Their 4.0 & 5.5 second runs have them sitting at 9.5 seconds on 2 steers and were good enough to win them a 1st and 2nd place cheque this week. Their steer tonight has only been caught once so far when Skocdopole & Spady maxed out the penalties in round #2. Schmidt’s had him in round #1 and McFadden & Flewelling had him last night, both coming up empty.
Drake & Ross both assured me that they are ‘bringing the heat tonight’ and I’m sure some other teams will be too.
It’s setting up to be an exciting round, with 3 teams still having a horse in this race. Stay tuned for round #4 results.
