Kavis Drake & Denim Ross took their 2nd victory of the week last night, after a smoking hot 3.9 second run. The run not only sets the pace for the fastest run of the week, but also gives us a taste of what is to come in the dwindling hours of the 50th Canadian Finals Rodeo. And with that run, Drake & Ross picked up another $11,100 to both sit #1 in the standings with $52,518 in earnings.

While the pair is starting to look like the favorites for a Canadian title later today, there are no plans on letting off the gas. When asked about the game plan going into the final 2 rounds on Championship Saturday, Drake replied, "Go fast. That's what has been working for us, so I'm not going to back off none. Even if we just have to catch the last one, I'm still going at em. When I take an extra swing, that's when I mess up so I'm going to keep going at em and let the chips fall where they may".

Ross reiterated Drake's statement, "We don't plan to back off. We plan to stay aggressive and try to win the go rounds. Our catch run is real fast, so we're just going to keep doing what we've been doing and just get the day money and hopefully hold our spot in the average".

As for their 3.9 last night, Ross said "It felt good, that steer was really good. Kavis did a great job getting out and getting him caught. He hit fast and was good to heel."

"We knew that steer was a little bit sharper, Pony & Tyrel had him in the first round and Pony missed him. Pony told me he wanted to step right in the run down so he was waiting for that in the first round but then he stayed straight and was a really good steer" explained Drake, "I kind of honestly dropped my hand too soon last night and made my horse float right there. He was right there out in front of me and that's what fits me and Denim's run, a little sharper, a little momentum, that helped us finish fast".

If you were fortunate enough to be in Rogers Place, you could feel the electricity when these 2 stopped the clock and from the arena floor, it was just as electric. "It's unbelievable in there, that atmosphere, it's loud. Today should be electric for Championship Saturday. It's been good crowds, the announcer and sound guy have been doing a great job of keeping it pumped up".

"It's so cool, the atmosphere is crazy. That's a rank building, it is so big. Especially after you make a good run and you face and everyone is yelling and screaming, the hair on the back of your neck stands up, it's such a cool feeling. I was pumped, I usually don't show a bunch of emotion, but last night I was yelling", added Drake.

Round 4 kicks off in just under an hour and with the way these 2 have been roping, expect great things to happen today.
